Family: Psittacidae (Parrots, 40 species in Australia)
Distribution: Within about 300 km of the coast of NSW and most of VIC.
Status: Common
Habitat: Moist forests, farmlands, parks, woodland, open forest.

About the Crimson Rosella
The Crimson Rosella is a very common bird in the Blue Mountains. The caged photo was taken when I did WIRES (animal rescue).
